S91 22I <br /> 3 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A 3 <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO <br /> EDUCATION ARTS REPERTORY THEATRE TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AND <br /> SUPPLIES FOR ITS EDUCATIONAL AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to present theater, offer arts education, mentorship <br /> programs, and provide student outreach to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, HEART has produced numerous community performances in the past and <br /> is also producing "Home for the HiloDays", in December; and <br /> WHEREAS, in coordination with these public performances, HEART offers educational <br /> and mentorship programs designed to allow students to discover opportunities on both sides of <br /> the curtain that might not be available otherwise; and <br /> WHEREAS, HEART is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of equipment, <br /> supplies, and other physical necessities related to these programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide a <br /> diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective <br /> communities in a safe environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre to assist <br /> with the purchase of equipment and supplies for its educational and mentorship programs. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
