These funds will be used to assist eligible <br /> Hawaii County households that are at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing <br /> instability due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this <br /> $15,075,000 to the OHCD's Emergency Rent Assist 2 COVID-19 and Emergency Rent <br /> Assist 2 Admin COVID-19 accounts. <br /> The Office of Housing and Community Development requests that this bill be waived <br /> from the Finance Committee and be placed on the November 2, 2022 Council agenda in <br /> order to expedite the receipt of funds.
