i <br /> 3 <br /> i <br /> J�"CY OF�4k• 3 <br /> x ��diQ. 33 <br /> +Po•j NTMO i••t�` <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAIII <br /> sr¢oF•Hp•M <br /> RESOLUTIONO. 59" 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HO`OULU LAHUI TO <br /> ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH ITS WAIHONU RESTORATION <br /> PROGRAM AT LILI'UOKALANI GARDENS. <br /> WHEREAS, Ho`oulu Ldhui is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that provides <br /> opportunities to perpetuate Native Hawaiian practices, values and beliefs in partnership with the <br /> community to achieve unity, harmony, and total well being; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ho`oulu Ldhui's community program to restore Waihonu at Lili`uokalani <br /> Gardens consists of a series of events that provides interactive learning activities and teaches <br /> participants of all ages about native plants, animal species, cultural sites, loko i`a restoration, and <br /> utilization of effective microorganisms AICA genki balls; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ho`oulu Ldhui is requesting funds to purchase supplies and materials for its <br /> Waihonu restoration program including education and training on genki balls; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation provides and facilitates a wide <br /> variety of services to meet the needs of the community while maintaining the cultural uniqueness <br /> of our rich heritage, diversity, and the aloha spirit; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Ho`oulu Ldhui to assist with expenses associated with <br /> its Waihonu Restoration Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
