i <br /> JNivfOf <br /> COUNTY OF `I STATE OF HAWAIII <br /> tTt of w►'''' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 601 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> IHAWAI`I FOR ITS REENTRY AND RECOVERY HOUSING PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission <br /> is to assist justice-involved men, women, and youth on Hawaii Island with reintegration into <br /> community life through employment, education, training, housing, and supportive services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's Reentry and Recovery Housing Program is an <br /> ongoing program that assists justice-involved individuals with overcoming challenges such as <br /> homelessness, unemployment, substance use, and mental health issues to help them reintegrate <br /> into community life; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is requesting funds for expenses that include,but are <br /> not limited to, computers and case management software,video surveillance cameras, filing <br /> cabinets, cleaning supplies,personal protective equipment, food and other sundry supplies, drug <br /> testing equipment, bedding, kitchen supplies, and hygiene supplies; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to support <br /> programs that improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working <br /> collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community by employing early <br /> intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life on Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawaii for its Reentry and Recovery <br /> Housing Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
