aazY;0F H�`Y <br /> COUNT'S OF HAWAII t= :* STATE OF HAWAIII <br /> 1�tf QF•M�^� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ALOHA CLUB OF <br /> HILO FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2022 HALE `OLUEA CLUBHOUSE <br /> HOLIDAY EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hale `Oluea Clubhouse is a voluntary, psychosocial rehabilitation <br /> program for adults with mental health disabilities in East Hawaii, which is a branch of <br /> Clubhouse International with 300 clubhouses in 30 countries; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hale `Oluea Clubhouse has a unique rehabilitation format where <br /> participants work with staff to foster participation through self-determination and are treated as <br /> "members"rather than clients; and <br /> WHEREAS, the holiday season can be a very difficult time for individuals with mental <br /> health disabilities, and Hale `Oluea Clubhouse strives to provide a supportive, low-stress, yet <br /> festive environment for its members by providing food, social experiences, and group support <br /> through its annual Holiday Event that runs from Thanksgiving through the New Year; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Aloha Club of Hilo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides <br /> funding for Hale `Oluea Clubhouse members, training for staff and volunteers, and vocational, <br /> educational, social, and recreational opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Aloha Club of Hilo is requesting funds to assist with expenses for food <br /> and supplies for the 2022 Hale `Oluea Clubhouse Holiday Event; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br /> drug-free and alcohol-free community events; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Aloha Club of Hilo for expenses related to the 2022 Hale <br /> `Oluea Clubhouse Holiday Event. <br />
