REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: November 1, 2022 Re: Comm.No. 1066/Bill No. 231 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:00 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 231, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 231,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 1066 dated <br /> October 14, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of <br /> Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. <br /> This bill increases revenues in the Transfer from General Fund account($6,000); and appropriates the <br /> same to The Food Basket, Inc. Account. Funds would be used to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Island <br /> Food Basket to purchase food for its Kona warehouse. <br /> A motion to amend Bill No. 231 with the contents of Communication 1066.1 was made by Committee <br /> Member Holeka Goro Inaba, seconded by Committee Member Ashley L Kierkiewicz. Mr. Inaba <br /> explained that the amendment was made to correct the amount on Bill No. 231 from $6,000 to $3,000. <br /> Mr. Inaba added that he believes this was a clerical error as he only donated$3,000 and not the reflected <br /> amount on Bill No. 231 of$6,000. The amendment passed with eight"ayes,"with Committee Member <br /> Susan L. K.
