i <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �rEOF•NP•� ) <br /> RFESOLUTIONNo. 16 22 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> RESOLUTIONTI ( ) NEW FIRE EMS RECRUIT <br /> (TEMPORARY) POSITIONS FOR THE HAWAVI COUNTY FIREj <br /> DEPARTMENT <br /> ii <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Department is in need of ten (10) new Fire EMS <br /> i <br /> Recruit (Temporary) positions for a newly created job class; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Department has a shortage of Paramedics, and <br /> these Fire EMS Recruit (Temporary) positions will allow the department to <br /> hire paramedics to directly fill vacancies; and <br /> WHEREAS, these Fire EMS Recruit (Temporary) positions do not <br /> require additional funding as salary and wages are appropriated to vacant <br /> permanent positions that recruits will eventually fill; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which <br /> appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that ten (10) new Fire EMS Recruit (Temporary) positions be created in the <br /> Hawaii County Fire Department. <br />
