First, the fee simple acquisition of Kapalama, <br /> North Kohala, approx. 18.91 acres in North Kohala preserving Kapalama Heiau, numerous <br /> cultural sites, and recreational areas. Secondly, a Conservation Easement with Ala Kahakai <br /> Trails Association for Kiolaka'a, Ka'u. The property consists of five parcels for a total of 1,843.047 <br /> acres. <br /> To date, the County has acquired 10,269.947 acres consisting of approx.5,537.487 acres <br /> in Conservation Easements and 4,732.46 acres in fee simple, which will remain in open space <br /> protection in perpetuity. <br /> SUMMARY OF AUTHORIZED LAND ACQUISITIONS <br /> Through prior resolutions, the County Council has authorized the Finance Director to <br /> enter into land negotiations to acquire the most recent parcels with resolutions approved by <br /> the County Council for 2022 is summarized below: <br /> Resol.
