No. 48/Res.No. 35-23 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:01 P.M. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 35-23, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 35-23,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 48 <br /> dated December 15, 2022, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one <br /> fiscal year for a multi-year lease of one sewer cleaning truck for the Department of Environmental <br /> Management. <br /> This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an approximate <br /> monthly cost of$9,000. <br /> Committee Member Cynthia Evans asked the County if there was an analysis of what it would cost to <br /> buy this machine, as the resolution states that this is a multi-year lease. Finance Director Sako clarified <br /> that these objects are financed to own. <br /> Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder asked Wastewater Division Chief Dora Beck for some <br /> clarification on the use of this vehicle and where this truck would be located.
