This <br /> appropriation was for the purchase of essential fire equipment to be utilized in Pdhoa and <br /> other sectors within the lower Puna area. The Fire Department was unable to secure the <br /> purchase of this equipment by June 30, 2022, resulting in a lapse of funding. The Fire <br /> Department now wishes to reappropriate those funds in fiscal year 2022-2023 to <br /> complete the equipment purchase. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this <br /> $300,500 to the Geothermal Fire Equipment account in order to complete this equipment <br /> purchase. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Darwin Okinaka of the Fire <br /> Department at 932-2906. <br /> Deanna S.
