REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: February 7, 2023 Re: Comm.No. 85/Res.No. 46-23 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:01 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 46-23,reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 46-23, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 85 <br /> dated January 20, 2023, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal <br /> year for a multi-year agreement for software maintenance and user support. <br /> This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year agreement with Ventiv Technology, <br /> Inc. with an approximate one-year cost of$17,094 for the first year and a gradual yearly increase ending <br /> at approximately $19,239 for the final year, for maintenance and user support for the Department of <br /> Human Resources, Workers' Compensation Division. <br /> Human Resources Director Waylen Leopoldino introduced Human Resources Manager Sommer Tokihiro <br /> to provide a detailed overview. Ms. Tokihiro explained that this software is used to process workers' <br /> compensation claims and explained how this software interfaces with multiple programs that the County <br /> currently uses to file and expedite claims. <br /> Mr. Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder asked Ms. Tokihiro if the agreement can be canceled if, at any point,the <br /> department finds that this software is not up to par and does not perform as expected.
