4oJ��V OS M,�''•, <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII +• �' /`••` STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 66 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE SOCIETY FOR <br /> KONA'S EDUCATION & ART FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE NATURE & <br /> ART AS THERAPY WORKSHOPS BY ROOT & RISE HAWAII. <br /> WHEREAS, the Society for Kona's Education& Art (SKEA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to provide community service projects that meet the needs of the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Root&Rise Hawai`i cultivates social and emotional wellness through <br /> integrative and therapeutic mental health programs, and one of its programs,Nature &Art as <br /> Therapy (NAT),provides support to adults with mental health challenges through its nature- and <br /> art-based workshops that are free to the public; and <br /> WHEREAS, SKEA, as a fiscal sponsor, is collaborating with Root& Rise Hawai`i to <br /> develop six-months of NAT workshops that will provide mental health support, increase self- <br /> esteem,teach life skills, create a sense of belonging, engage in creativity, and connect to nature; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, SKEA is requesting funds for workshop facilitators and assistants, <br /> workshop supplies,printing material, and snacks to support the NAT workshops; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that bring <br /> awareness and education to our community on living a healthy lifestyle; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to SKEA for expenses relating to the NAT workshops by Root <br /> & Rise Hawai`i. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
