No. 106/Bill No. 26 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 11:04 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 26, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 26,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako,via Communication No. 106 dated <br /> February 2, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of <br /> Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. <br /> This bill increases revenues in the State Grants—Kua Bay account($100,000) and the West Hawaii <br /> Ocean Safety account($76,402) account; and appropriates the same to the Kua Bay—State <br /> Equipment account($100,000), bringing the total appropriation to $580,000; and the Hapuna Beach— <br /> State Equipment account($76,402), bringing the total appropriation to $995,505.- <br /> Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz asked Deputy Fire Chief Eric Moller to comment on this <br /> measure. Mr. Moller provided a brief overview stating that Fire Chief Kazuo Todd successfully acquired <br /> this funding to help purchase new rescue equipment such as surfboards, rescue rings, and other <br /> associated equipment for the rescue towers to maintain those beaches. Ms. Kierkiewicz asked Fire <br /> Accountant Nikol Lonokapu if she would like to add anything,to which she replied that Mr. Moller <br /> addressed it all.
