J�tVfO Fe'4& <br /> COWNTY OF HAWAII <br /> �iy fN <br /> STATE OF t <br /> pA.V wa aoa.*�� <br /> SOLUTION NO. 84 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING A PR ATI OUT <br /> AND FROMA DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO EQUALITY HI T <br /> ASSIST WITH PURCHASING FOOD FOR A YOUTH SUMMER THEATER CAMP. <br /> WHEREAS, Equality HI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br /> proactively engage in creating an inclusive and diverse Queer community through aloha, <br /> leadership, resources, services, and education; and <br /> WHEREAS, Equality HI has partnered with:Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre <br /> (HEART) to host a Youth Summer Theater Camp at the end of May 2023; and <br /> WHEREAS, Equality I-II is providing outreach to different organizations to ensure that <br /> low-income youth have an opportunity to participate in the Youth Summer Theater Camp; and <br /> WHEREAS, Equality HI is requesting funds to assist with purchasing healthy snacks <br /> and food for the youth who will be attending the Summer Theater Camp, as many of whom may <br /> be low-income and in need of food assistance; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide a <br /> diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective <br /> communities in a safe environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Equality HI to assist with purchasing food for the <br /> HEART Youth Summer Theater Camp. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
