;at....o 4.. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •E �'' /.•) STATE OF HAWAII <br /> i,„.•1! <br /> q4 o;0,... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 109 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAII FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 2023 REENTRY SUMMIT. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose <br /> is to reintegrate justice-involved men, women, and youth into community life through <br /> employment, education, housing, and appropriate services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i works in collaboration with more than 80 public and <br /> private entities to provide a variety of support services to former offenders, including housing, <br /> case management, and referrals to mental health and/or substance abuse treatment programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's 2023 Reentry Summit, which will be held in <br /> August 2023 in West Hawai`i, intends to assemble and educate a variety of existing and new <br /> stakeholders to work collaboratively to provide strategies that leverage state, local, and federal <br /> funding streams to assist justice-involved individuals with their re-integration into the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is requesting funds to help pay for expenses to <br /> include planning, educational materials, and work materials for instructors; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to support <br /> programs that improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working <br /> collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community by employing early <br /> intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life on Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i for expenses relating to its 2023 <br /> Reentry Summit. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transferred/appropriated the following amount as set forth below: <br />
