STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 44 O;. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 111 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAII FOR ITS 2023 REENTRY SUMMIT. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br /> is to assist justice-involved men, women, and youth on Hawai`i Island with reintegration into <br /> community life through employment, education,training, housing, and supportive services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's 2023 Reentry Summit, which will be held in <br /> August 2023 in West Hawai`i, intends to convene a broad spectrum of stakeholders to educate <br /> attendees and determine how they may work collaboratively to provide strategies and leverage <br /> state, local, and federal funding streams to assist justice-involved individuals with their re- <br /> integration into the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is requesting funds to help pay for expenses to <br /> include planning, creation of educational materials, and work materials for the breakout room <br /> instructors; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to support <br /> programs that improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working <br /> collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community by employing early <br /> intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life on Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i for its 2023 Reentry Summit. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transferred/appropriated the following amount as set forth below: <br />
