COUNTY OF HAWAII :•�• '' /:• STATE OF HAWAII ' �r�cs•H�`i�-- RESOLUTION NO. 116 23 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI- YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department desires to lease approximately 7,000 square feet of office and warehouse space situated at 1382 Kilauea Avenue, in Hilo, County and State of Hawai`i, from Gerald M. Yamada Trust and Wendy M. Yamada Trust ("Landlord") to relocate the County of Hawai`i Central Fire personnel, apparatus, equipment, and related general services; and WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department desires to enter into a multi-year lease agreement which is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2023, for a five-year term, with the option to renew the lease for two (2) additional five (5) year terms with Landlord; and WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Fire Department is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlord for this office and warehouse space; now,therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Honorable Mitchell Roth, Mayor of the County of Hawai`i, is hereby authorized to enter into a multi- year lease with Gerald M. Yamada Trust and Wendy M. Yamada Trust, for a five-year term with options as indicated above.
