COUNTY OF HAWAII :•�• '' /:• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ' �r�cs•H�`i�-- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 116 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER <br /> FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI- <br /> YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other <br /> obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one <br /> fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department desires to lease approximately 7,000 square feet of <br /> office and warehouse space situated at 1382 Kilauea Avenue, in Hilo, County and State of Hawai`i, <br /> from Gerald M. Yamada Trust and Wendy M. Yamada Trust ("Landlord") to relocate the County of <br /> Hawai`i Central Fire personnel, apparatus, equipment, and related general services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department desires to enter into a multi-year lease agreement <br /> which is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2023, for a five-year term, with the option to renew the <br /> lease for two (2) additional five (5) year terms with Landlord; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Fire Department is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter <br /> into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlord for this office and warehouse space; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> Honorable Mitchell Roth, Mayor of the County of Hawai`i, is hereby authorized to enter into a multi- <br /> year lease with Gerald M. Yamada Trust and Wendy M. Yamada Trust, for a five-year term with <br /> options as indicated above. <br />
