REPORT OF THE <br /> - COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: April 4, 2023 Re: Comm.No. 166/Bill No. 37 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 37,reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 37,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako,via Communication No. 166 dated <br /> March 16, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of <br /> Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. <br /> This bill increases revenues in the Fund Balance From Previous Year account($3,500,000), and <br /> appropriates the same to the General Excise Tax Mass Transit Other Current Expenses account. <br /> Funds would be used to cover additional costs related to fixed route operations. <br /> Committee Member Susan L. K. Lee Loy wanted clarification on the increased amount and asked the <br /> administration to provide some answers. <br /> Committee Member Ashley L.
