81 MMNHWG REPORT <br /> METHODOLOGY (DATA SOURCES) <br /> This preliminary report includes two main sources of <br /> information: 1) a comprehensive literature review; and <br /> 2) data obtained from state and community agencies. <br /> The purpose of the literature review is to holistically un- <br /> derstand the scope of the problem of MMNHWG and to <br /> identify solutions informed by the pre-existing literature <br /> base. <br /> LANDThe following research questions were addressed for <br /> this report: <br /> CK <br /> 1. What are the demographic characteristics of <br /> missing and murdered Kanaka Maoli women and <br /> girls? <br /> BODIES2. What are the ex eriences of survivin p g Kanaka <br /> Maoli women and girls and their families as they <br /> CK are navigated through and/or navigate the pro- <br /> cess when recovered? <br /> The full report will address additional research ques- <br /> tions which can be found in Appendix A. <br /> With the assistance of the MMNHWG TF, the principal <br /> investigator obtained preliminary data and statistics to <br /> help form a macro-level understanding of the scope and <br /> extent of NHWG violence. <br />
