i <br /> i <br /> o� <br /> LINTY OF HAWAPI STATE OF HAWAPI <br /> -p:�Mi MCfip\+ <br /> ,rt o�`ard <br /> SOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF <br /> HAWAII YMCA FOR ITS EAST HAWAII FAMILY VISITATION CENTER <br /> PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the Island of Hawaii YMCA (YMCA) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization that strengthens communities through holistic programming focused on health and <br /> well-being, youth development, community-based solutions, and inspiring others to serve <br /> through volunteering and advocacy; and <br /> WHEREAS, the YMCA Family Visitation Center Program in East Hawaii provides <br /> children who have been negatively impacted by domestic violence, custody disputes, or other <br /> familial disruptions, a safe space to spend time with their family members along with scheduling, <br /> coordination, supervision and security services; and <br /> WHEREAS,the YMCA Family Visitation Center Program requires assistance with <br /> funding to maintain its operations, including trained staff to supervise visits; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> and youth programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(A)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Island of Hawaii YMCA to assist with expenses related <br /> to its East Hawaii Family Visitation Center Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
