G�•°Ji,C.. for <br /> COUNTY OF t t`. :tSTATE OF HAWAII <br /> .'TA.OF'Npff <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 143 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING A APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE PAHOA LAVA <br /> ZONE MUSEUM FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE ACTIVATE PUNA <br /> COMMUNITY EVENT IN PAHOA. <br /> WHEREAS,the Pdhoa Lava Zone Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, displays <br /> cultural art and volcanic exhibits and artifacts that highlight the unique geological features of <br /> lower Puna, attracting visitors and residents who are contributing to the revitalization of <br /> downtown Pdhoa and the surrounding community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pdhoa Lava Zone Museum is supporting the Activate Puna community <br /> event to be held on May 13, 2023, which is a community revitalization and creative placemaking <br /> project that will bring community together around art, food, and music in the heart of Pdhoa <br /> Village; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pdhoa Lava Zone Museum is requesting funds for expenses relating to <br /> the Activate Puna community event that include entertainment, audio/video resources, lighting, <br /> security, staging, barricades, tents, volunteer supplies, and media announcements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br /> drug-free and alcohol-free events that enrich the lives of community members; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Pdhoa Lava Zone Museum for expenses relating to the <br /> Activate Puna community event in Pdhoa. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
