I <br /> i <br /> s <br /> COUNTY OF ItI STATEc <br /> s <br /> r <br /> gf.4�o• <br /> ,TF•OF'Ml'� <br /> I <br /> i <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 144 23 <br /> i <br /> I <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFLRRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br /> LGBTQ PRIDE TO SUPPORT ITS 11TH ANNUAL PRIDE PARADE AND FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br /> mission is to provide opportunities for youth and the community to gather together and celebrate <br /> love, diversity, and equality; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride's 11th Annual Pride Parade and Festival <br /> brings members of the LGBTQ community together to affirm their fundamental rights and place <br /> in Hawaii County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 11th Annual Pride Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday, June <br /> 24, 2023, along Hilo bayfront and at the Mo`oheau Park bandstand; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride is requesting funds to cover expenses for <br /> rental fees, volunteer materials, keiki area and activities, and porta-potty rentals for its 11th <br /> Annual Pride Parade and Festival; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that promote <br /> family-friendly events and activities in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride to support its 11th Annual <br /> Pride Parade and Festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
