REQUEST: <br /> A resolution adopting the 2023 Integrated Climate Action Plan as the official strategic roadmap for achieving <br /> emissions mitigation and climate adaptation goals and targets. <br /> The Resolution outlines the concept of climate change, policy history regarding sustainability and climate <br /> change targets, the overarching goals of the ICAP, and commits the County to actions and strategies <br /> outlined in the document. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED <br /> Over the last decade, the County has supported and committed itself to taking proactive action to mitigate its <br /> contributions to and adapt to the impacts of global climate change. The creation of the Integrated Climate <br /> Action Plan is the County's first step for outlining how it intends to achieve goals related to climate change <br /> mitigation and adaptation. Affirmation of this Resolution shows commitment from all branches of government <br /> to achieve those goals through the actions and strategies listed herein which will then aid the Department in <br /> its grant applications and displaying proof of commitment to climate action. <br /> SIGNED:' ..
