i <br /> V OF.. 1 <br /> 40°. <br /> COUNTY OF c i.a .4STATE OF P i <br /> i <br /> - n <br /> +fiTd OF MPS' <br /> i <br /> jt <br /> SOLUTION NO. 206 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATION OF MEMBERS TO THE <br /> NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE <br /> WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii County is a member of the Hawaii State Association of Counties <br /> (HSAC), the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate Region <br /> (WIR); and <br /> WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee, on June 26, 2023, approved nominees for <br /> the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors for the respective terms beginning <br /> July 1, 2023, as identified in Exhibit 1 attached hereto; and <br /> WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that Council approval is required to approve the <br /> nomination of representatives to the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors; <br /> now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> KipuKai Kuali`i, Kauai County Council; Tommy Waters Honolulu City Council; and Ashley <br /> Kierkiewicz, Hawaii County Council (NACo presidential appointee) are approved to serve on <br /> the NACo Board of Directors for the term beginning July 1, 2023. <br />
