REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: August 1, 2023 Re: Comm.No. 382/Res.No. 212-23 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 212-23, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 212-23,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 382 <br /> dated July 14, 2023, extends one temporary position for the Department of Research and Development. <br /> This resolution seeks to extend the Economic Development Specialist III position for an <br /> additional three months to oversee Kuleana Health program activities and complete associated <br /> reports. <br /> Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder asked Research and Development Director <br /> Douglass Adams to provide a brief overview. <br /> Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz asked Mr. Adams if his team would be willing to <br /> present a report on this program and to detail what they learned with this program,their successes <br /> and challenges; also, how we could continue this work.
