COUNTY OF HAWAII -••` �t•;-.:ft '= STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> 'f1T h M <br /> E OFN' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 238 23 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $5,000 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I ANIMAL <br /> CONTROL AND PROTECTION AGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, Alexander & Baldwin LLC is donating $5,000 to the Animal <br /> Control and Protection Agency; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase capacity-building equipment <br /> and supplies to provide services island wide; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> Resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Animal Control and Protection Agency recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the <br /> County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this <br /> resolution be sent to Alexander & Baldwin, 822 Bishop Street, Honolulu, HI 96813. <br />
