311!0111111111 11111111IRTAWMI <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION <br />OF TWO (2) TOMMY LIFT GATES WITH INSTALLATION TO THE <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT. <br />WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii, a nonprofit organization, is donating two (2) Tommy <br />Lift Gates with installation to the County of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, this equipment, with an estimated value of $14,439.78, will be <br />utilized by the County of Hawaii Police Department's Community Policing, Area I & <br />Area II Sections; and <br />WHEREAS, this donation will assist the Police Department and benefit the <br />community by allowing the means to provide increased services and delivery during <br />major events and disasters; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br />that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br />securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and <br />Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts <br />or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br />capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution <br />approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this <br />donation; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter <br />
