...... <br /> e---!:!„.c.i.,N,�,, <br /> .. „:. ,.„ ,\,,:,,,:. ., <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -••A�.,5;',.fi:_• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> „________) <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 266 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FRIENDS OF <br /> THE PANA`EWA ZOO TO PURCHASE KEIKI CUDDLE CARTS FOR USE AT THE <br /> PANA`EWA RAINFOREST ZOO AND GARDENS. <br /> WHEREAS,the Friends of the Pana`ewa Zoo (FOPZ) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to promote the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens, educate <br /> visitors, provide for special animal needs, enhance the lives of the resident animals, nurture the <br /> rainforest environment of the zoo, and encorage compassion towards animals; and <br /> WHEREAS,the FOPZ operates the gift shop that provides the keiki cuddle carts that <br /> help parents transport young children throughout the zoo; and <br /> WHEREAS,the FOPZ has requested funds to purchase five (5) new keiki cuddle carts to <br /> replace those are unrepairable and/or deteriorating in condition; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation provides and facilitates a wide <br /> variety of services to meet the needs of the community while maintaining the cultural uniqueness <br /> of our rich heritage, diversity, and the aloha spirit; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the FOPZ to assist with purchasing five (5) new keiki <br /> cuddle carts. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
