COUNTY OF HAWAII •� = ' ��•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 267 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO REIMBURSE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 67TH ANNUAL HAWAII STATE LAW <br /> ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE. <br /> WHEREAS, the annual Hawai`i State Law Enforcement Officials Association <br /> (HSLEOA) Conference is recognized as Hawai`i's premier law enforcement symposium that has <br /> led the way in uniting law enforcement agencies to successfully meet the many challenges that <br /> they face; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 67th Annual HSLEOA Conference was hosted by the Hawai`i County <br /> Police Department at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort& Spa on September 27-29, 2023, and <br /> the theme was "Challenges Facing Modern Policing"; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the highlights of this year's conference was the recognition of the <br /> HSLEOA Officers of the Year that honored county, state, federal, and military law enforcement <br /> officers for their exceptional service, which also included officers from the previous three years <br /> who were not formally recognized due to the cancellation of HSLEOA Conferences during the <br /> COVID pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting funds for a reimbursement of expenses <br /> for brochures and conference materials for the 67th Annual HSLEOA Conference; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Police Department <br /> for a reimbursement of expenses relating to the 67th Annual HSLEOA Conference that was held <br /> on September 27-29, 2023. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
