COUNTY OF HAWAI`I i-(6k:'' -I STATE OF HAWAI'I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 269 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO VIBRANT HAWAI`I <br /> TO ASSIST WITH THE BANYAN DRIVE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT AT THE <br /> FORMER UNCLE BILLY'S HILO BAY HOTEL. <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that brings <br /> community-based organizations, government, foundations, and businesses together to build <br /> awareness and implement strategies that are developed and resourced by the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawai`i is working with community artists to increase awareness <br /> of the culture and history of the Banyan Drive peninsula by installing an art project on the <br /> property of the former Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotel; and <br /> WHEREAS, the beautification project is a drug-free and alcohol-free family-friendly <br /> project that attracts both residents and visitors from around the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawai`i is requesting funds for artist consultation, supplies, and <br /> materials; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide <br /> compliance to liquor laws at drug-free and alcohol-free events; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Vibrant Hawai`i to assist with expenses for the Banyan <br /> Drive Beautification Project at the former Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotel. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
