•JMtV OF N.w•••. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I "• ; STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> tTE OF•MF'. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 270 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HE HO`OMAKA HOU <br /> ANA 0' PUNA TO SUPPORT THE HAWAII COMMUNITY COLLEGE'S `AUAMO <br /> KULEANA DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUMMIT. <br /> WHEREAS, He Ho`omaka Hou Ana 0' Puna(HHHAOP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that strives to improve the economic, physical, and mental well-being of all women <br /> in Puna; and <br /> WHEREAS, HHHAOP is working in partnership with the Hawai`i Community <br /> College's Administration of Justice Club and Human Services Program to coordinate the <br /> `Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit to provide awareness, education, and resources to <br /> the community about the dynamics of domestic violence; and <br /> WHEREAS,the `Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit will be held on October 13, <br /> 2023, at the Hawai`i Community College; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawaii Community College's Culinary Arts program will provide food <br /> and beverages, and the Administration of Justice Club and the Human Services Program will <br /> provide items for the participation bags for attendees; and <br /> WHEREAS, HHHAOP is requesting funds to cover expenses for food, beverages, <br /> supplies, and materials for the `Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports this event as it is in keeping <br /> with the goals and objectives of the department to support safe and healthy community activities; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to He Ho`omaka Hou Ana 0' Puna to support the <br /> Hawai`i Community College's `Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit. <br />
