OJrtV OF N7... • COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII 7. ...OF 7` RESOLUTION NO. 271 23 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE PANA`EWA ZOO TO PURCHASE KEIKI CUDDLE CARTS FOR THE PANA`EWA RAINFOREST ZOO AND GARDENS. WHEREAS, Friends of the Pana`ewa Zoo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens with new animals, exhibits, animal enrichment, community events, and education; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Pana`ewa Zoo also operates the gift shop that provides keiki cuddle cart rentals to the public, for which the fees are utilized to fund regular maintanence and additional improvement projects; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Pana`ewa Zoo is requesting funds to purchase new keiki cuddle carts to replace the old ones that are well-used and are ready to be retired; and WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation provides and facilitates a wide variety of services to meet the needs of the community while maintaining the cultural uniqueness of our rich heritage, diversity, and the aloha spirit; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recration to provide a grant to Friends of the Pana`ewa Zoo to purchase of keiki cuddle carts for the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
