or <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •: ->' • STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> . �rE oF•Nr,�N . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 278 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAMAKUA HEALTH <br /> CENTER,INC., FOR LADIES NIGHT OUT,A BREAST CANCER AWARENESS <br /> EVENT IN HONOKA`A. <br /> WHEREAS, Hamakua Health Center, Inc. (HHC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, <br /> provides quality healthcare that is responsive to the needs of its patients and the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, HHC is coordinating Ladies Night Out, a breast cancer awareness event for <br /> all ladies 16 years and older, which will be held on November 3, 2023, in the gymnasium at the <br /> Honoka`a Sports Complex; and <br /> WHEREAS, the goal of the event is to promote health and wellness through free health <br /> screenings, massages, beauty treatments, informational booths,refreshments, and entertainment; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, HHC is requesting funds to help defray the costs for health screening tests, <br /> event insurance, refreshments, entertainment, and supplies for the Ladies Night Out event; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide <br /> events and activities that address the needs and interests of our diverse communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hamakua Health Center, Inc., for Ladies Night Out, a <br /> breast cancer awareness event in Honoka`a. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
