Pursuant to Section <br />2-214.2 (b), the maintenance fund shall be administered and managed by the Department of Finance. <br />The Department of Finance received fifteen applications seeking stewardship grant funding to maintain <br />and preserve County of Hawaii lands acquired through the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural <br />Resources Preservation Fund filed by August 31, 2022, for the grant year 2023, beginning July 1, 2023, <br />through June 30, 2024. <br />On August 1, 2023, the Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions Committee approved six of the fifteen <br />grant applications and referred to their respective resolutions. <br />I am pleased to present our continued recommendation of four applications, identified by locations, and <br />recommendation about each applicant's ability to complete the project according to the project plan. <br />The applicants have submitted budgets that reflect compliance with the Hawaii County Charter 10-16(h). <br />Attached, please find the budgets for the following: <br />1. Waipio Valley Lookout, Hamakua, Hawaii TMK No.: (3) 4-8-004:006. <br />Stewardship Grant No. 23-07, Pohaha I Ka Lani, applicant. <br />FY 2023 Amount requested $ 56,100.00. <br />2. Friends of Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Gardens, S. Kona, Hawaii. <br />TMK (3) 8-2-013:002, 003, 014; 8-2-014:043; and 8-2-015:059. <br />Stewardship Grant No. 23-03, Friends of Amy B.H.
