Pohaha I Ka Lani <br />PO Box 412 Kurtistown, HI 96760 <br />Pohahaikalani.com <br />Attachment for : Stewardship Grant Application, "Public Access, Open Space, and <br />Natural Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund" <br />From Page 3 of Application: <br />What are the objectives of the proposed project? <br />The project will invite individuals and'ohana to help expand upon Pohaha I Ka Lani's cultural <br />education and land stewardship initiatives by caring for and expanding the ethnobotanical <br />gardens at Koa'ekea. <br />Objectives: <br />1) Conduct baseline site maintenance of grass, front fence, and ethnobotanical gardens. <br />2) Host volunteers and malama'aina events to cultivate and maintain ethnobotanical <br />gardens, along with educating participants of the PONC sites environmental, cultural and <br />social significance. <br />3) Improve the safety and access to the designated locations of the ethnobotanical gardens. <br />4) Reduce fire hazard of bamboo growth. <br />5) Repair fence or gate as needed. <br />
