It 0 <br />JM� <br />COUNTY OF HAWAVI <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />R• • <br />flook I <br />(DRAFT 2) <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5, ARTICLE 4, SECTION 5-4-3, OF THE <br />HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br />INSTALLATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 5, article 4, section 5-4-3, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 <br />(2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending subsection (f) to read as follows: <br />"(f) Installation of photovoltaic systems shall require: <br />(1) Electrical design drawings and specifications that have been prepared, designed, and <br />stamped by a person who is licensed in the State of Hawaii as a professional electrical <br />engineer for residential installations greater than 10 kilowatts and non-residential <br />installations; and <br />(2) Plans and specifications for building work that have been prepared, designed, and <br />stamped by a person who is licensed in the State of Hawaii as an architect or a <br />professional structural engineer for: <br />(A) Non-residential installations; or <br />(B) Residential installations that do not utilize a preapproved system or that are not <br />consistent with approved standards including but not limited to, those relating to <br />span tables, older homes or site -built trusses." <br />SECTION 2. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring <br />need not be included. <br />SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br />to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or <br />applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or <br />application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable. <br />
