WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this project as it is in <br />keeping with its goals and objectives to provide safe, clean, enjoyable, accessible, and <br />aesthetically pleasing facilities; to create public/private partnerships to improve and maintain <br />recreational facilities; and to accommodate the local burial needs of veterans and their eligible <br />family members; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery Development <br />and Expansion Association to assist with expenses related to its World War II Memorial project. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $10,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.500.5503.02 Department of Parks and Recreation <br />P&R Admin.
