REQUEST: <br />DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Prosecuting Attorney DATE <br />Grant Naaata <br />09/21/23 <br />PHONE: 934-3310 <br />A resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi year grant contract with the State of Hawaii, <br />Department of the Attorney General totaling $443,371 for FY24 and $93,371 for FY25, with in-kind match <br />requirements of $110,843 in FY24 and $23,343 in FY25. <br />In order to expedite the receipt of this grant we request to waive Finance Committee. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />Funds have been provided by the State for our Aid to Victims (Victim/Witness Program) for FY24 and FY25. <br />The Victim Witness Program provides assistance and support services to the victims and witnesses through <br />our Victim Assistance Unit.
