REQUEST: <br />10/04/23 <br />934-3310 <br />Request to amend Ordinance 23-50, County Operating Budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. <br />Increase the revenue and appropriation in the Traffic Safety Training Project account by $11,479.88. <br />Revenue Account No: 010.3308.19 <br />Expenditure Account No: 010.271.5271.78 <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />Federal funds have been provided by the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation for our Traffic <br />Safety Training Project for FY24. These funds support specialized training for prosecutors, law enforcement <br />officers and other personnel aimed at reducing the lethal effects of alcohol -driving and drugged driving. <br />Trainings provided through this grant equip prosecutors and law enforcement officers with the most current <br />techniques, methods and standards in the investigation and prosecution of alcohol and drug -impaired <br />drivers.
