o. y <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />4: e <br />RESOLUTION NO. 342 23 <br />RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW GRANT COORDINATOR <br />POSITION, ONE (1) NEW PUBLIC SAFETY COUNSELOR POSITION <br />AND ONE (1) NEW HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST II POSITION <br />FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of a Grant Coordinator <br />position, a Public Safety Counselor position and a Human Resources Specialist II <br />position to support the Department and its employees, and <br />WHEREAS, the Grant Coordinator position is needed to assist the <br />department in directly identifying and evaluating potential funding sources that can <br />used towards County programs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Safety Counselor position is necessary to provide <br />support to department employees and their families so employees are able to <br />perform their jobs safely and effectively; and <br />WHEREAS, the Human Resources Specialist II position is needed to <br />adequately service the expanding department, and <br />WHEREAS, the positions indicated above are one (1) Grant Coordinator, <br />SR -24, one (1) Public Safety Counselor, SR -26, and one (1) Human Resources <br />Specialist II, SR -22; and <br />WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai'i County Charter states <br />that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions... for which appropriations have <br />been made by the council...", now, therefore, <br />
