�1V o. yam' <br />COUNTY OF HAWAVI STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 347 23 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND <br />COMMUNITY SERVICE, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A GRANT <br />TO THE HAWAII COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH & <br />DEVELOPMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Corporation for National and Community Service <br />(AmeriCorps) has authorized $50,000 to be provided to the County of Hawai'i, <br />Department of Research & Development; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of this agreement is to deliver trainings from local <br />historians, cultural practitioners, and other resources to AmeriCorps Volunteers in <br />Service to America (VISTAs) to ensure their thorough understanding of the <br />communities they serve, and <br />WHEREAS, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br />federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br />powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br />assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br />powers, now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br />accordance with section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the <br />County of Hawai'i is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement <br />and related documents with the Corporation for National and Community Service <br />for services as described above. <br />
