• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAN :�_ '= / • STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> • 14 OF•NP�. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 348 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE SANCTUARY OF <br /> MANA KE`A GARDENS FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS WELLNESS THROUGH <br /> AGRICULTURE MANIFESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, Sanctuary of Mnaa Kea Garden is 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br /> mission is to offer educational and purposeful options for self and global renewal through <br /> connection of sustainability and spirituality, and provides information to promote healthy and <br /> vibrant vegan lifestyles; and <br /> WHEREAS, Sanctuary of Mana Kea Gardens is hosting its Wellness Through <br /> Agriculture Manifestival, a free agricultural festival for the West Hawai`i community to provide <br /> education in organic agriculture, sustainability, zero-waste, conscious living, and Hawaiian <br /> culture, which will also include animal rescue and welfare activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Sanctuary of Mana Kea Gardens is requesting funds to assist with <br /> expenses for facility rental and supplies and materials related to its Wellness Through <br /> Agriculture Manifestival, which will be held on December 2, 2023, at the Hale Halawai; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to promote, <br /> perpetuate, and encourage activities and programs in culture, art history, and humanities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Sanctuary of Maid Kea Gardens to assist with <br /> expenses related to its Wellness Through Agriculture Manifestival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
