.4 JNt COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 361 23 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NORTH KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW BOAT CRANE AT MAHUKONA WHARF. WHEREAS, Mahukona Wharf is a County beach park that provides the only boat launch and anchorage point for the entire North Kohala area; and WHEREAS, the small boat crane formerly utilized at Mahukona Wharf has fallen into disrepair and warrants replacement; and WHEREAS, North Kohala Community Resource Center (NKCRC) is a 5 01 (c)(3) nonprofit organization working in partnership with community members and the County to replace the aging boat crane for the safety and benefit of all parkgoers; and WHEREAS, NKCRC is requesting funding assistance to cover necessary expenses relating to a site survey and assessment of the wharf in its present condition and a certification and inspection of the crane to be installed; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this project as it is in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to provide safe, clean, enjoyable, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing facilities at County parks; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to North Kohala Community Resource Center to assist with expenses related to the installation of a new boat crane at Mahukona Wharf. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
