OF <br /> \ j74 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I :•• ''-, '�• <br /> • STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3G8 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PETFIX SPAY AND <br /> NEUTER FOR ITS SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS IN RURAL COUNCIL DISTRICT 1. <br /> WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter (PETFIX) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> whose mission is to lower the overpopulation of cats and dogs by offering free spay and neuter <br /> clinics in rural areas across the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, PETFIX aims to provide spay and neuter clinics within rural Council <br /> District 1 at no-cost to lower-income residents in efforts to encourage quality of life for pet and <br /> caretaker and to further protect the environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, PETFIX is requesting funds for veterinarian fees to conduct the spay and <br /> neuter clinics in rural Council District 1; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development supports this program, <br /> which falls within its community-building initiative to collaborate with community-based <br /> organizations to balance economic, social, health, and environmental priorities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to PETFIX Spay and Neuter for its spay and <br /> neuter clinics in rural Council District 1. <br /> , BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
