No. 577/Res. No. 345-23 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 345-23, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 345-23, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 577 <br />dated October 26, 2023, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one <br />fiscal year for a multi-year lease for one 60 -inch Deck Rotary Mower for the Department of Parks and <br />Recreation. <br />This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an approximate <br />monthly cost of $1,350, to be used at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course. <br />Committee Member Rebecca Villegas made a motion to amend the contents of Resolution No. 345-23 <br />with the contents of Communication 577. 1, which was brought forth by Finance Director Deanna Sako. <br />Communication 577.1 was approved and amended by adding three 60 -inch Deck Rotary Mowers. Ms. <br />Villegas commented that the department was headed in the right direction. <br />Ms. Sako apologized for the oversight and thanked the Committee for amending the resolution. <br />The motion to amend Resolution No. 345-23 with the contents of Communication 577.1 passed with <br />seven ayes and two excused, Committee Members Susan L. K. Lee Loy and Ashley L. Kierkiewicz. <br />Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder returned to the main motion and opened the floor for <br />discussion. <br />Committee Member Heather Kimball gave comments of support and acknowledged the Department of <br />Parks and Recreations for these purchases, as these purchases are necessary for the department's <br />conscious decision to move away from using glyphosate in our public parks. <br />Committee Member Cindy Evans asked for clarification on the monthly lease rate. Ms. Sako stated that <br />she believed there was a typo in the B-52 and would request the department to be present at the next <br />hearing. <br />FC Report No. 114 <br />
