.,OMZYfoc. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <•� `'' •:•` STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> BILL NO. 95 <br /> • (DRAFT 2) <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 23 99 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 5, SECTION 24- <br /> 280, SCHEDULE 28 OF THE HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION), <br /> RELATING TO NO PARKING AT ANYTIME UPON CERTAIN STREETS OR <br /> PORTIONS OF STREETS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I: <br /> SECTION 1. The purpose of this ordinance is to: (1)prohibit parking alongside a <br /> certain section of Old Mamalahoa Highway at a blind turn that fronts the De Luz Quarry and is <br /> adjacent to an exposed lava tube; and (2)to facilitate traffic flow within the narrow winding road <br /> without sight obstructions. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-280, Schedule 28, entitled <br /> "No parking at anytime," subsection"(a) Hamakua," of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 <br /> edition), is amended by adding new listings to be appropriately inserted and to read as follows: <br /> • Old Mamalahoa Highway (Route 222), beginning from 3.7 miles east of the northwest <br /> junction to Highway 19 and extending one thousand five hundred and nine feet in the <br /> easterly direction on both sides of the roadway. <br /> SECTION 3. New material, as depicted in Section 2 is underscored. In printing this <br /> ordinance, the underscoring need not be included. <br /> SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br /> to any person or circumstance, is held invalid,the invalidity does not affect other provisions or <br /> applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or <br /> application, and to this end of the provisions of this ordinance are severable. <br /> SECTION 5.
