e,,..IUD <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I i*• ;6�' i•I STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> rEOF•;, <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 400 24 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br /> RECREATION TO AWARD FUNDS TO HAWAI`I HI-DIVING FRIENDS <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br /> County Code (2016 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of$25,000 <br /> to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br /> grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance <br /> or resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than <br /> profit-making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax-exemption from the <br /> Internal Revenue Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii HI-Diving Friends, which qualifies as a nonprofit <br /> organization as defined above, will utilize the funds towards their Charles "Sparky" <br /> Kawamoto Swim Stadium Dive Tower New Staircase project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to provide <br /> $66,815 to Hawaii HI-Diving Friends; now, therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, in <br /> accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code, the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to provide a grant of <br /> $66,815 to Hawaii HI-Diving Friends to provide services as indicated above. <br />
