REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: January 9, 2024 Re: Comm.No. 660/Res.No. 401-24 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo,Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:41 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 401-24, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 401-24,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako,via Communication No. 660 <br /> dated December 20, 2023, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the United States <br /> Department of Agriculture, Pursuant to Hawai`i Revised Statutes Section 46-7, for a grant to the <br /> Hawaii County Research and Development Department. <br /> This resolution allows for the receipt of$69,680 of federally-derived funds to evaluate infrastructure <br /> needs and associated costs to inform next steps for infrastructure development. <br /> Research and Development Director Douglass Adams introduced Digital Equity Specialist Shola <br /> Kahiapo-Trevino and Economic Development Specialist Riley Saito. Ms. Kahiapo-Trevino gave a <br /> PowerPoint presentation on this matter.
