- .............. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -*'��•� STATE OF HAWAII <br /> rE OF HF <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 432 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LAP OPUA 2020 FOR <br /> EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS YOUTH CULINARY PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br /> provide social, recreational, vocational, educational, and cultural opportunities to the <br /> communities in Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of its programs is the Youth Culinary Program that inspires and teaches <br /> youth culinary skills from a hands-on, grassroots approach, which will be held in the spring and <br /> summer of 2024; and <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is requesting funds for aprons, cutting boards, knife sets, <br /> notebooks, pens, blue tape, and food for its Youth Culinary Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> programs that promote educational activities for youth in a drug- and alcohol-free environment; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to La`i`opua 2020 for expenses relating to its Youth Culinary <br /> Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
