No. 742/Res. No. 442-24 <br />Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions, to which was referred Resolution <br />No. 442-24, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 442-24, transmitted by Deputy Corporation Counsel Sinclair Salas-Ferguson, via <br />Communication No. 742, dated February 15, 2024, authorizes the acceptance of a quitclaim of real <br />property, described as Remnant Road Reserve, Parcel A, being a portion of Tax Map Key <br />No. 7-5-006-034 and containing an area of 1,794 square feet, situated at Lanihau 2nd, Kailua, North <br />Kona, Island of Hawaii, from the State of Hawaii, by its Board of Land and Natural Resources. <br />The County seeks to utilize this parcel for public parking. <br />Deputy Corporation Counsel Sinclair Salas-Ferguson, and Public Works Director Steve Pause were <br />available for questions. Mr. Pause provided printed satellite imagery of a map of the subject property <br />contained in Exhibit B of the resolution, and explained that this property is owned by the Department <br />of Land and Natural Resources and represents 14 parking spaces on Likana Lane. He stated that Public <br />Works is in the process of upgrading the parking lot by expanding it to the south for the addition of <br />31 more parking spaces.
